ON GOLF
Guys,
I went to the PGA Show in Orlando last week.
I’ll give you the full recap and some brand breakdowns of some exciting players in the space, BUT FOR NOW I BRING YOU ONE THING ONE THING ONLY.
Simply put… PAYNTR Golf.
They had a new shoe line launch + an unveiling of their two new signature athletes. You may be thinking, oh who could Payntr get, I’ve not really heard of them? BRACE YOURSELVES.
Here’s the story.
How I got there
On the morning of Thursday, January 22nd, I met a man named Joe. Not to get into the specifics of who Joe is, but Joe is the apparent puppet master pulling all the fancy strings of the golf creator economy.
He’s not only an impressive man, he’s also humble, he’s kind, and he’s competitive when it comes to mini-golf (as more golf industry giants should be).
I tell Joe about my aspirations in writing and media. Joe introduces me to a guy named Bo.
This is the classic Joe —> Bo connection you guys keep hearing about. Joe Bo, Bo Joe, Joe to Bo, Bo to Joe. You get the picture.
I chat with Bo at the show (sorry this rhyming is getting out of hand — I “didn’t” mean for this to happen). Bo was kind enough to say “hey I do some work with Payntr Golf, and they have an event this afternoon if you’d like to come through.”
I thought, yeah sounds cool, but maybe not, I should keep grinding on the exhibit floor meeting people. But after another couple hours of that, I had to get out of there. So I walk a mile to TopGolf (I’m up to 15,000 steps by 3:30pm).
I arrive at Payntr’s event at 3:37, the perfect time to show up to a 3:30 event of this particular kind if you ask me — not too early, but not disrespectfully late.

One of the Mikes. We love the Mikes.
You know how I got there, here’s what happened
Payntr foudners Mike Forsey and Mike Glancy (another classic… the Mike + Mike combo) have really done it. Payntr invited a small group of brand partners, influencers, and media folk (hahahahahaha ME) to post up at TopGolf with food, drinks, a message on the brand’s direction, and a MAJOR reveal.
They were generous hosts. They sent us back with a PAYNTR x Jones shoe bag loaded with goodies: a good-looking leather yardage book, some balls, some tees, and yes… a pair of Reserve Classic Tours — a near-perfect golf shoe that doesn’t officially drop for a couple months.
They literally gave me a really nice, unreleased pair of shoes. Like the ones Min Woo Lee was wearing this weekend. They must think I’m an influencer.
I can’t think of a thing I would change about these kicks.
Min Woo-Lee and Sam Burns: PAYNTR ATHLETES

let him cook
Min Woo Lee and Sam Burns join Jason Day and Isaiah Salinda as Payntr athletes. These guys are superstars and great finds for Payntr, no other way to put it.
Min is a fan favorite who can seriously perform on the Tour. Burns has been a 2x Ryder Cup team member. Both are winners on the Tour.
It’s not long before Payntr becomes an industry staple, competing with the likes of FootJoy, Nike, and Adidas — I’m serious, I don’t feel like they’re that far off from owning a hefty share of the Tour’s shoe game.
Both Lee and Burns made the cut at the American Express, and Jason Day’s Sunday 64 propelled him to T-2 for the weekend. Of course, Scottie Scheffler showed us yet again that he’s a cut above the rest. He’s kinda insane. It’s so rare for him to have any kind of off day.
REGARDLESS, Payntr was on display at the show and on the course, and they’ll continue to be for years to come.
Many thanks
Thanks Bo for the invite. Thanks Joe for Bo. Thanks Mike. Thanks Mike. More from the PGA Show to come.
Check out the YouTube channel — not much on there yet, but going to be experimenting with some fun stuff here soon.
Cheers,
Luke Mangan
